How to get a copy of your imaging report and images

Last updated October 28, 2026

Your report goes to the provider who ordered the test, but you have the right to ask for your own copy.

Reports

Ask your ordering provider's office for a copy of your report. Many can print it or send it securely.

Images

Ask the clinic where you had the test. Some offer online access to images and reports. Others provide them on disc or by request. There may be a fee or subscription required to have digital access to your images.

Your right to your records

Ontario's health privacy law gives you the right to access your own personal health information. Make the request in writing to the clinic or provider that holds the record. They may charge a reasonable fee for copies.

Tips

  • Ask in advance if you'll need images for a specialist, so you can plan for any delay.
  • Keep your own copy of important reports.
